Why isn’t my body fat percentage being measured when I connect with the app?
1. You are not standing on the scale with bare feet. Wearing shoes or socks can cause the electrodes to fail to measure body data.
2. The scale is not placed on a flat, hard surface. Placing the scale on a carpeted or raised surface will result in deviations in the data.
3. Weighing without standing still. After weighing, wait until the weight stabilizes or the display on the scale flashes 3 times before the weighing is complete.
4. The soles of the feet are not stepping on the electrodes. The soles of your feet need to touch the electrodes, and stand still to measure.
5. Incorrectly setting personal information. When personal information is filled out incorrectly, usually the age is too young or the height is abnormal, which is beyond the measurement range of the body fat scale, the body fat percentage will not be measured, only the weight will. Please check if the basic personal information is incorrect.
For example, the user's height was originally 150cm, but 50cm was selected by mistake, resulting in the measurement range being exceeded. After modifying 150cm, the measurement is normal.
6. Out of age range. Users younger than 10 years old or older than 99 years old can only measure weight and BMI data, and will not be able to measure body fat percentage and other body data.
Why is my body fat percentage different from other scales? Why does the body fat percentage need to be measured long-term and the relative change value of body fat percentage more important?
Fat is a special tissue complex in the body, which includes subcutaneous fat, visceral fat, etc., and is widely found in all parts of the body.
There are several popular methods of monitoring and measuring changes over a long period of time, including DEXA, BIA, weighing in water, etc. Each method has its own unique algorithm and has different results.
To date, weighing in water and DEXA (Dual Energy X-Ray Absorption) have been called the "gold standard". However, there are errors in the repeat test results of these gold standards. Therefore, the biggest problem with body composition analysis is that no single instrument can give an absolutely correct answer.
Most manufacturers of home body fat scales use the BIA measurement method, which also varies according to different algorithms, so it is not recommended that users focus on the difference in absolute values between measurements taken on different devices.
Rather, it is more important to focus on the relative values of long-term measurements on the same device. Therefore, we recommend that users try to use the same evaluation system to monitor and measure adiposity over a long period of time, as the long-term changes can be assessed to obtain the trend of a person's health status, and the control of the health trend is the most important, so we believe that the relative value of the change is more meaningful than the absolute value of a single measurement.
Why do the body fat measurements exceed 100%?
In terms of the chemical structure of the human body, the main components of the human body include body fat tissue, water, protein, and inorganic tissue. Adipose tissue is mainly composed of fat, water.
The scale measures the amount of fat tissue, muscle tissue, water, and other major tissues in the human body. Since each of these tissues contains a significant percentage of water, the measurements of the final product will add up to more than 100%.
Why isn't the app syncing my offline measurement?
The app will display a “Synchronize Data” button only if your specific scale requires manual offline measurement transfers. Tap the "Synchronize Data" button and wait for your offline measurements to upload. Some models sync automatically - in those cases, you won’t see the button at all.
